Partnered
This session is designed to cultivate energetic awareness, emotional intimacy, and spiritual harmony between two partners, using Taoist and Tantra principles, without sexual reference. Its structure focuses on breath, movement, mindful presence, and energy flow.
Preparation
Create the Sacred Space
Choose a quiet room, dim lighting or natural light.
Optional: incense, soft instrumental music, or natural sounds to deepen relaxation.
Sit or stand facing each other; maintain respectful distance.
Set Intention
Each partner silently or aloud states an intention for the session, e.g., “I intend to connect fully with my own presence and with my partner’s energy.”
Optional: place hands over the heart center as a gesture of self-connection and receptivity.
Part 1: Grounding Practice (5–10 minutes)
Stand or sit with feet planted on the floor.
Breathing: Inhale deeply into the lower abdomen (Dan Tian); exhale slowly.
Mirroring: Partners gently mirror each other’s posture or hand gestures in silence.
Visualization: Imagine roots extending from your feet into the Earth, drawing in stability and nourishment.
Part 2: Energy Awareness (10 minutes)
Flow Awareness:
Place hands lightly palms-up facing each other, a few inches apart.
Slowly move hands closer and farther apart, sensing subtle sensations, magnetic pull, or warmth.
Maintain non-verbal communication, acknowledging energy without judgment.
Optional: incorporate Taoist concept of Yin/Yang by alternating soft and active movements.
Part 3: Partnered Breathwork (10–15 minutes)
Both partners sit cross-legged or kneeling comfortably.
Align breath in cycles:
Inhale together for a count of 4–6.
Pause for a count of 2.
Exhale together slowly for the same duration as the inhale.
Maintain eye contact or soft gaze if comfortable.
Visualize shared Qi/energy flow circulating between you and your partner.
Part 4: Taoist Movement Flow (10–15 minutes)
Gentle Qigong-inspired movements to harmonize energies:
Raise arms slowly on inhale, sweep down on exhale.
Rotate torso in synchrony to release tension.
Circle arms dispersing energy outward, then inward toward the centre.
Partners can synchronously mirror movements and notice emotional resonance.
Part 5: Inner Smile & Organ Awareness Meditation (5–10 minutes)
Sit comfortably, close eyes.
Smile gently within each organ (heart, liver, lungs, kidneys) as Taoist practice suggests.
Optionally, share reflections aloud afterward without critique.
Part 6: Closing Ritual (5 minutes)
Return to seated or standing position.
Place hands over the heart, bow slightly to each other as a sign of mutual respect and presence.
Take three slow, deep breaths together and release awareness of the session.
Share a brief reflection or expression of gratitude if desired.
Principles & Notes
Non-Sexual Focus: All practices cultivate energy, awareness, and connection without sexual touch or erotic intention.
Mutual Respect and Consent: Each movement or breath is optional; partners may opt out at any time.
Energetic Hygiene: Center yourself before and after the session. Use visualization to release lingering tension.
Integration: Encourage reflection on insights, feelings, or sensations experienced during the session.
This session emphasizes presence, mindful intimacy, energetic alignment, and Taoist-Tantric principles, creating a profound shared meditative and healing experience without sexual activity.
